Frequently Asked Questions
Two way radios are used across a range of industries to provide staff with an easy way to communicate as a group or individually. Communication can be separated into different teams or as an emergency broadcast when needed.
Two way radios operate as transceivers - both receiving and transmitting via radio waves. A transmitter in the two way radio sends out a message. When receiving a message it interprets the information across the frequency.
The device also has a tuner to sort through different frequency signals. When the radio signals reach the other device, the waves are converted into different signals the operator picks up via the speakers.
Unfortunately there is not a simple answer to this. The range for the radio depends on a number of factors including terrain, type of radio, if you are using a repeater and the Ofcom licensing.

Yes, you will. If you buy from us we will apply on your behalf as part of our sevice. Plus we will manage the annual renewals for you.
This is dependent on how much the radio is used but typically you should expect to get 10-12 hours use out of a fully charged battery.
Using a two way radio is simple. You turn the handset on and either select a frequency or use a pre-set one.
You can join a conversation with other handset users by pressing the push-to-talk button.
Please see below for radio use etiquette - it is a thing!
These are the basic radio etiquette rules:
- Do not interrupt if you hear other people talking
- Respond when someone contacts you, even if it's to tell them to "stand by" if you need them to wait for a response
- Never transmit sensitive, confidential, financial or military information over the radio.
Absolutely - that's all part of the service! Two way radios are very easy to use, but if you haven't used one before we will show you the features and how to use it.
